Meet the Founder

Introducing the founder and CEO of Save The First Dance, Kiana Smith. Kiana has been dancing since the age of 3 and is trained in over 10 different dance genres including hip hop and multiple other street dance styles, heels, ballet, musical theatre, ballroom, latin, tap, contemporary, jazz and acro. Originally from Vancouver Island, BC, she grew up training in a competitive dance studio and has competed and performed all over North America.

As a professional dancer, Kiana has had the opportunity to perform in 9 different countries, has toured with Lilly Singh, danced with Drake, Rihanna, and Machel Montano to name a few, she has taught, choreographed and judged all across Canada, and the US, and can be seen in movies and tv shows on Disney, Prime, CBC, Nickelodeon and Netflix.

Whether as a teacher, choreographer or coach, Kiana has always loved giving back and helping people reach their potential. She created Save The First Dance with the goal to make newly-weds look and feel spectacular on their special day. And with her vast knowledge of multiple dance genres, she wanted to create an opportunity for couples to be able to add in other styles and influences to their special moment, not just the classic ballroom/slow dance. Having danced at many weddings herself over the years, Kiana knows how special weddings are and the importance of certain details.
